Baby Foot PrintsUsing white frosting spread the top of the cupcake evenly and reasonably thick.
Gently push two pink jelly beans half way into the frosting.
Use pink writing gel to pipe toes.
It looks nice when you match the cupcake cases with the color of the jelly beans. You could make blue for a boy, pink as pictured for a girl and if you're not sure yellow or soft green look great.
Flowers and HeartsSpread the top of the cupcake with a generous amount of white frosting smooth out to the edges.
Decorate with three small store bought sugar flowers placed in the center of the cake.
Decorate the outside with small edible heart shaped confetti.
Frost the top of the cupcake thickly with white frosting. Bevel the edges of the frosting so that a slight angle is created from the mid center to the outside of the cupcake, leaving the middle centre piece frosted flat.
Place a thick layer 100's & 1000's or colored sprinkles into a small dish and gently dip the angled edge of the frosting into it, this will create a multi colored ring around the cupcake.
To finish the look, place a candle or other small decoration into the center of the cupcake.
For a professional look match the cupcake wrapper with the decorations.
Color the frosting pink. Spread the top of each cupcake quite thickly with the frosting ensuring that it is reasonably flat.
Place about six white Choc Melts around the outside of each cupcake overlapping slightly to create the flower petals, use a chocolate freckle for the center of the flower cupcake.
Silver RingsPlace a thick layer of white frosting over the top of the cupcake spreading to completely cover the top smoothing it flat.
Use a small lid or cutter to mark overlapping circles on the frosting for the rings.
Place silver or gold cachous on each ring outline (I find that using a pair of tweezers very helpful for this). If you like you can add several colored cachous to create a colored stone on one ring.
Elegant SwirlFit a large piping bag with a large fluted nozzle fill the bag half full with white frosting.
Pipe a swirl of frosting on the top of each cupcake. You can see a video on how to pipe a swirl here.
To decorate place a number of colored cachous in the groove lines created in the frosting. (I find that using a pair of tweezers very helpful for this).
Christmas BerriesSpread some white frosting the the centre of the cupcake.
Cut a spearmint leaf lolly in half horizonatlly (you may find that once cut in half the shape may have distorted a little, to fix this gently pull back into shape).
Gently push the leaves into the frosting. Use three jaffas or red gum balls for the berries.
Christmas WreathSpread a thick layer of white frosting onto the top of the cupcake.
Cut six spearmint leaf lolly in half horizontally (you may find that once cut in half the shape may have distorted a little, to fix this gently pull back into shape).
Gently push each half leaf with cut side up into the frosting to create a ring around the cupcake.
Place a ring of color cachous in the centre of the wreath and use more cachous to decorate the leaves. (I find that using a pair of tweezers very helpful for this).
Simple ValentineFor this cupcake I used frosting in a can. It is Cake Mate Soft Frosting - petal pink. Fitted with the star tip that comes with the can.
Following the instructions on the can, pipe a ring of frosting over the top of the cupcake starting at the outer edge working your way in. Because it is a small fine nozzle you will get a frilled effect - very feminine.
Finish by standing a foil covered chocolate heart in the centre of the cake.
Red Chocolate HeartSpread white frosting over the top of the cupcake.
Holding the cupcake over a large plate lightly sprinkle the edges with colored sprinkles.
Make a heart pick by inserting a cocktail stick into the bottom of a foil covered heart, tie a ribbon (I used curling ribbon) on the cocktail stick at the bottom of the heart. Insert into the centre of the cupcake.
