Cupcake Wrappers

What are cupcake wrappers?

They are decorative paper cases that are used to wrap around and enhance the look of your finished cupcake. You do not bake your cupcake in them they are used only as a decorative cupcake feature.

How do you put the wrapper on?

Just decorate your cup cakes as usual, wrap the wrapper around your cupcake and secure into place by pushing the tab firmly into the slot.

If you are making your own wrappers, apply a little glue or use double sided tape at the ends to secure in place.

Wrappers are available in a large and varied range for many occasions.

They are available in plain colors as well as printed in many different designs including kids birthday party themes, religious occasions, anniversaries and more.

They can also have decorative cutouts which gives beautiful intricate lacy designs perfect for cup cake wedding cakes or wedding shower cupcakes.

How to Make Cupcake Wrappers

You can easily make your own wrappers. You will need to select a paper that is not to thin (scrapbooking paper would be ideal), you can create a decorative edge by using craft scissors or paper punches.

The following video from Little Miss Crafter shows you how you can create a border on the edge of your diy wrapper. Just bear in mind that she has used a wrapper she made using the Circuit Machine but you can do the same thing using this free wrapper template you can download it here.

If you want to create a two tone wrapper watch the next video. Regina from The Cutting Edge will show you how to create this. She will also show you how to wrap it around your cupcake and secure it in place.

I mentioned before that there is a machine that will cut out wrapper shapes for you, it is called the Circuit machine and is really great if you are into paper crafts.

I found this video that might interest you; it shows how easy the wrappers can be made using this machine.
