To make a piped rose swirl; half fill a piping bag fitted with a star tube.

Twist the top of the bag so that if forces the frosting to the end of the tube.

Starting at the center of the cupcake. Place the icing tube on the surface of the cake and squeeze out some frosting while working your way towards the outside of the cake.

Once the cake is completely covered stop squeezing the frosting through the tube and gently pull the nozzel from the frosting.
